TRANSFER TRACKER: Signing
Real Salt Lake announced on Friday that the club has signed goalkeeper Andrew Putna from Real Monarchs, their USL side, the seventh player to make such a move and the fourth on RSL’s current roster.
To clear roster space for Putna, Salt Lake placed defender David Horst on the Season-Ending Injury List in the wake of his surgery last month to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon.
“This is a great credit to Andrew and the work he has put in over the last two years,” RSL GM Craig Waibel said in a club release. “It’s another feather in the cap for our staff with the Monarchs, who continue to develop players for the first team.”
RSL originally acquired Putna, 23, with the 48th pick of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft and he has made six appearances in the last two seasons with the Monarchs, including two starts this season with two shutouts and a 0.83 GAA in USL play.
