Levadia Tallinn v Dundalk LIVE score updates from the UEFA Europa League qualifier

Cleary buzzing for European debut

Dundalk’s Daniel Cleary is hoping for a European debut to remember this evening.

The 22-year-old was on the bench for Liverpool when they faced Bordeaux three years ago, but he never made a first-team appearance for the Reds.

And he is hoping to help the Lilywhites to a win in Estonia.

He said: “Hopefully it goes well. It will be a new experience for me, something new in my career and it definitely excites me.

“I was on the bench before in the Europa League and never got to play in the competition, so I’m looking forward to it.”

He added: “I’m just really looking forward to playing in Europe but I’ve already enjoyed the season. It’s a great league here, there are some unbelievable players in it and it’s so competitive.

“It helps being in a team that’s doing well. I hate losing, so if I was in a losing team I wouldn’t be too happy.

“But there’s a great bunch of lads here. We’re all winners here, and that breeds into me to be a winner too.

“This is my first competitive season where playing actually matters, so it’s good for me.”
