That’s according to French football expert Jonathan Johnson who believes the Brazilian is going nowhere, despite interest from Real Marid.
PSG signed Neymar for a world record fee of £200milliom from Barcelona last year with the player signing a five-year deal. That contract sees him earn £40.7million – £782,000 a week – before tax.
PSG won the treble last season but for much of the season they were without Neymar, who broke his metatarsal in January.
He ended up playing just 20 Ligue 1 games in his first season but Johnson expects him to stay for another couple of years before leaving.
“I don’t necessarily think Neymar will see out his contract in Paris but I do think that PSG’s Qatari owners expect him to see out at least two or three of those years of his deal,” Johnson told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“There’s no intention on their part to let him go this summer.
“If anything, I think if they were looking back on his first season, not necessarily because what he did on the pitch or didn’t do, it didn’t really go the way they hoped it would go.
“Obviously there’s a large element of bad luck involved in that with him getting injured back in February but I think they will think there’s more to come from Neymar at PSG.
“I think Neymar is also planing for the future in Paris. It’s well-known that his girlfriend will be moving to Paris to join him in a couple of months, once the season is back underway.
“I think a more settled Neymar will be more productive for PSG.”
Real Madrid been linked with the 26-year-old and Dani Carvajal this week started the charm offensive.
The Spanish international claimed he would welcome Neymar to the Bernabeu if Madrid president Florentino Perez was eager to sign him.
“If he was born to play in Madrid, I don’t know,” Carvajal told Cadena SER.
“Madrid always want the best in the world. If the president is determined to sign him, we will have to save a locker.”
