With the official signing of Raul Ruidiaz potentially coming within the next week, the Seattle Sounders have likely already turned their attention to finding a potential TAM signing to go along with him. One name has already surfaced: Ligue 1’s Yannis Salibur. L’Equipe claims the Sounders are one of three MLS teams who have inquired about signing the Guingamp winger.
Although Salibur looks to be a little too expensive to fit into a TAM contract — his transfer value is estimated to be close to $5 million and even his salary alone may push the $1.5 million limit — he does match the broad profile of the type of player the Sounders are likely pursuing.
The 27-year-old has been mostly used as a right-sided winger, is known mostly for his speed and may be available as a relative bargain after a down season last year. In the two seasons prior to his injury-plagued 2017-18, in which he had just three goals and one assist, Salibur had 15 goals and 12 assists in Ligue 1 competition.
