It’s only been ten days since the Montreal Impact defeated Orlando City SC, 3-0, which turned out to be Jason Kreis’s last match in charge of Orlando. And despite a new (interim) coach, different venue, and new formation, the result was similar Saturday night when the teams met again, this time the Impact claiming the three points with a 2-0 win in Florida.
Orlando interim coach Bobby Murphy lined up his side in a 3-4-3 formation, but it was the Impact who created the better chances. It took only 13 minutes for the visitors to take the lead when Matteo Mancuso‘s cross was deflected in by Orlando defender Lamine Sane for the own goal.
Never really pressured, Montreal put the game away late when Ignacio Piatti snuck in behind the defense to score his eighth of the year, extending Orlando’s losing streak in League play to seven straight.
