Fanatik report Lyon and Marseille are in the race to sign Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza.
The Brazilian has just 12 months left on his contract with the Turkish club and in the past week he’s been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United.
According to Fanatik, Marseille and Lyon are monitoring the situation with Souza and the two Ligue 1 clubs are ready to make offers for the player. Fenerbahce will elect their new president at the weekend and Fanatik say the player’s future will become clearer after Sunday.
Last week we covered reports from the Turkish press that Wolves are showing an interest in Souza, ten months after their rivals West Bromwich Albion came very close to signing him.
It’s been reported Wolves are prepared to pay €12m for the former Brazil international and have contacted Fenerbahce, with a (debatable) claim in Turkey this offer has come in from the Championship champions.
West Ham are also said to have made a bid of €12m for Souza, which was rejected by the Yellow Canaries. It was suggested the Hammers would need to offer in the region of €15m.
