KYLIAN MBAPPE rejected a move £158million move to Real Madrid last summer to sign for Paris Saint-Germain, according to Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev.

The 19-year-old joined Les Parisiens on an initial season-long loan, where he has since thrived in a front three alongside Neymar and Edinson Cavani.

His starring displays at Monaco last season led them to the Ligue 1 title, as well as advancing into the Champions League semi-finals.

He attracted a host of admirers from Europe’s top clubs, with Los Blancos having an offer for his services accepted.

Speaking to Canal+, Vasilyev said: “I remember we were training when we got the call from Real Madrid and accepted the €180m (£158m) offer for Mbappe.

“Later, I saw him and told him ‘we have received an offer that was impossible to refuse from the club of your dreams so tell me your answer’.

While Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is understood to have made Mbappe a top priority.
