Premier League heavyweights Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are keeping close tabs on Olympique Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri after the club is set to offload him in the summer.
Seri has been sensational for Nice this season and his outings for the French club have drawn interest from top suitors in the English League. The Ivorian midfielder has also been given the green light in order to leave the Allianz Riviera for a fee of around £40 million, which is quite the bargain in this transfer market.
Inside News-
According to the Mirror, Nice president Jean Pierre Riviera said that Seri would allow the development of players and help them succeed if they want to go abroad, “We are here to help players to improve and that is the case with him. Mika Seri is in the same category. He is a very good player who has brought a lot to the club and can legitimately have that desire to go and play abroad.”
This has alerted clubs in the English top flight who are impressed with Seri and are keen on luring him to the Premier League.
Liverpool will most likely be losing Emre Can in the summer with the German not signing a contract extension with the Reds. And Although Naby Keita will arrive at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp wants to add more dynamism to his midfield department.
Michael Carrick has retired at Manchester United and with Marouane Fellaini also on the exit door at Old Trafford; Jose Mourinho will need to bring in re-enforcements to compete with local neighbors Manchester City for the Premiership.
Chelsea’s summer arrival Tiemoue Bakayoko has struggled since making his debut at Stamford Bridge and the Blues are eager to replace him after a torrid season to strengthen their core in order to finish in the top 4 next term.
Author’s take-
I think that Seri would be a stellar addition to the Premier League because he can offer something else other than regular midfielders who can just pass the ball around. Seri is capable of playing in a deeper midfield role and create attacks for the forwards. I think Jurgen Klopp would get the best out of Seri if he moves to Liverpool.
