Usually replicas of trophies are displayed at events such as these with the real cup “in UEFA’s keeping at all times” according to their official website but the drama surrounding the incident suggests this may have been the official silverware.

It was quickly recovered and has suffered no damages.” In the semifinal first legs next week, Arsenal plays Atletico Madrid and Marseille takes on Salzburg.

If the Gunners get past the La Liga side and claim a place in the final at the Stade de Lyon on May 16, the match will be Arsene Wenger’s last in charge of the club after 22 years in charge.
