Chelsea are prepared to steal a march on their Premier League rivals and bid £35million for a Ligue 1 star, a report claims.
According to the Mirror, the Blues are lining up a summer move for Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri amid interest from a host of clubs.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a switch to a range of Premier League clubs, with Liverpool, Arsenal Manchester United and Manchester City among the Euro giants reportedly interested.
However, the report claims that Seri will wait until he knows who is at the helm next season for Chelsea before giving his green light for the move.
Seri almost made a switch to Barcelona last summer but it fell through, however he can leave this summer should anyone match his £34.8million buy out clause which is inserted in his current deal.
Chelsea are weighing up a number of summer targets, the report claims, and understand that failure to qualify for the Champions League may force them to switch targets.
