Leicester boss Claude Puel wants to build his team around Harry Maguire, not sell the defender.
Maguire has impressed this season since his £17 million arrival from Hull last summer and made his England debut against Netherlands last month.
Reports this week have linked some of the Premier League’s big clubs with a move for the 25-year-old defender, with champions Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham all mentioned.
“He is a valuable player and I want to build my team around him,” Puel said. “He needs to continue to improve but he is an important player for us, an international player.”
Asked if that meant he would not be selling Maguire, Puel replied: “Of course.”
