Jordan Henderson had a laugh at Harry Kane’s expense after Liverpool’s 3-0 win on Saturday, joking that Mohamed Salah would be credited with all three goals.
Tottenham striker Kane, who is in a race with Salah for the Golden Boot, has been the subject of some ridicule as the league — after Kane’s insistence — ruled that he got a touch to a ball that was originally credited to Christian Eriksen.
Salah did score one goal in the victory over Bournemouth to move five clear of Kane, but his teammate joked the Egyptian would be asking for all three.
“Yeah, he told me he’s going to claim all of them,” Henderson told BT Sport.
“He’s been brilliant, he’s been fantastic. But he’s just got to keep it going, with his work rate, his movement off the ball, how strong he is. Yeah, he’s a big player for us, so hopefully he can keep scoring for us.”
Liverpool midfielder James Milner also couldn’t resist aiming a barb at Kane, writing on Twitter after the game:
Another hat-trick for Mo today…. just waiting for the other two to be confirmed by the claims panel😜 https://t.co/GPYt4vHMn8

Salah’s goal was his 30th of the season, but asked if the playmaker’s tally would be enough to hold Kane at bay, Henderson wasn’t so sure.
“You can never keep Harry away — he’s always going to score goals,” he said. “He can come up with hat tricks — he’s got great finishing and [Sergio] Aguero is similar. He’s got to keep going and try to get as many as he can.”
