GEORGE WEAH’S son Timothy has been included in Paris Saint-Germain’s matchday squad for the first time.
With Real Madrid arriving in the French capital on Tuesday, Unai Emery has decided to wring the changes.
Neymar is sidelined as he undergoes an operation on a broken metatarsal, but the Spanish boss has also omitted Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe.
And that has seen Timothy Weah, 18, included in the 18-man travelling party for this weekend’s clash with Troyes.
Unlike his famous father George, who not only represented Liberia at international level but is now the country’s president, Weah Jr elected to play for the USA.
And, along with the likes of Christian Pulisic, is one of a number of young superstars emerging from the States.
He scored a stunning hat-trick during a 5-0 victory against Paraguay at the Under-17s World Cup, so is clearly not weighed down by the expectation.
Weah Jr is the only out-and-out striker in the squad, with Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler the other attackers included.
Marco Verratti is another big name omission, but Adrien Rabiot and Lassana Diarra will be included.
Defender Marquinhos is not among the selected defenders, but Dani Alves and Thiago Silva will be available.
