LAFC head coach Bob Bradley and star forward Carlos Vela discussed the controversial incident that occurred in the opening minute of their 5-0 loss to Atlanta United.
Atlanta United defender Chris McCann was originally sent off by referee Ted Unkel for a challenge on LAFC’s Benny Feilhaber. However, the red card was switched to a yellow card after Video Review.
McCann, who had begun heading down the tunnel toward the locker room, was waved back onto the field and went on to play the full 90 minutes.
It was the first instance in MLS history when Video Review of an incident led to a red card being changed to a yellow card.
