JOSE MOURINHO is eyeing up a new central midfielder in the summer, with Jean Michael Seri and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic two possibilities.

Michael Carrick is set to retire, while Marouane Fellaini is poised to become a free agent at the end of the season, as Manchester United look to replace their outgoing stars.

Seri, 26, has continued to impress with Nice this campaign, while Milinkovic-Savic has been a standout player for Lazio in Serie A.

According to ESPN, United’s Head of Global Scouting Marcel Bout has regularly watched the Ivory Coast international in action for the Ligue 1 club.

While the Red Devils maintain a strong interest in the Spanish-born Serbian international.

SunSport recently revealed that the duo were included in a six-man shortlist to replace Carrick, along with Arturo Vidal, Marco Verratti, Jorginho and Fed.
