Edin Dzeko rescued a point for Roma in a 1-1 draw at Bologna in Serie A.
The Champions League-chasing visitors looked to be heading for defeat following Erick Pulgar’s first-half strike but former Manchester City striker Dzeko equalised with 14 minutes left.
Roma, who travel to Barcelona in midweek for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, suffered an early blow when midfielder Radja Nainggolan went off injured.
Bologna took the lead after 18 minutes when Pulgar’s first-time strike from the edge of the area found the bottom left corner.
Roma should have been level in the 29th minute but Kevin Strootman somehow could only hit the left post from two yards out with the goal gaping.
The equaliser finally came in the last 15 minutes. Diego Perotti did well to get to the byline down the left and his cross was headed in at the near post by Dzeko for his fourth goal in as many games.
