TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Reports
The Colorado Rapids are going back to Great Britain for another attacking reinforcement, according to media reports on both sides of the Atlantic.
On Saturday night the Washington Post’s Steve Goff posted a tweet linking the Rapids to a loan move for Joe Mason, a striker with English Championship (second division) frontrunners Wolverhampton Wanderers. English tabloid the Daily Mail also published a report alleging Colorado’s interest in Mason as well as Aston Villa’s Ross McCormack.

If accurate, it could mark the second Wolves player to head for the mountains this winter, following in the footsteps of midfielder Jack Price, who joined Colorado in January. To date, the club has signed four newcomers from overseas this offseason, three of them from Britain.
Mason, 26, is an English-born player who represented the Republic of Ireland at youth international level via his Irish mother. Wolves are one of five clubs he’s played for since graduating from the youth system to the first team at his hometown club Plymouth Argyle in 2009, with goals and regular minutes proving scarce in recent seasons.
