TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Reports
Tuesday brought another disappointing Concacaf Champions League result for Toronto FC; however, there was some promising news on a frigid night at BMO Field.
At halftime of TFC’s 1-1 draw with CA Independiente, TSN’s Kristian Jack reported that Toronto have reached agreement on a new contract with striker Jozy Altidore that keeps the US international a Red for the next four years.
As I just reported on TSN multiple sources have confirmed to me that Jozy Altidore & Toronto FC have agreed to terms on a new deal that would run through the 2022 season. This isn’t official yet but an agreement is in place for the star striker to remain with #TFCLive

While Jack noted that the deal is not yet official, his scoop was soon echoed by other outlets, with the Canadian Press confirming via a report of their own, adding that the agreement was “expected to be finalized Wednesday.”
Currently entering the last year of the Designated Player contract that brought him to Canada in January of 2015 on wages reported at $5 million per year according to MLS Players Association documents, Altidore is in the final stages of recovery from an ankle injury that required surgery in October.
