Shaka Hislop believes the incident between Kepa and Maurizio Sarri is evidence of endemic issues within Chelsea’s coaching staff and dressing room.

The transfer window for Europe’s biggest clubs is closed, but click here for all the deals and keep track of who has joined the big boys. Transfer Talk will continue to scour the world’s media and set correspondents loose to see what’s on the agenda for the summer.

Arsenal on verge of landing Monchi

A report in Il Messaggero (via The Mirror) suggest that Unai Emery is one step closer to bringing Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo — or just plain old Monchi to you and Transfer Talk — to the Emirates as the club’s new sporting director. Apparently, the Gunners have “presented their offer” to the Spaniard and he rather likes the look of it.

Roma, meanwhile, are set to be appeased by Arsenal shelling out the £2 million needed activate the buy-out clause in his current contract with them. Everyone, it seems, is a winner.

Monchi has been linked with a move to North London since Sven Mislintat decided his future lay elsewhere and left his role as the club’s head of recruitment earlier in February. He’s a man in demand, with Sevilla — Emery’s old club — also reported to be interested in his services, but according to the Italian website, he has agreed to Arsenal’s terms and will be booking his cross-channel ferry before the season is out.

Tagliafico’s agent hints at Real Madrid interest

The agent of Ajax’s Argentine left-back Nicolas Tagliafico says his client is on Real Madrid’s list, while hinting that certain Los Blancos Brazilian is on his way out.

“Tagliafico is on Real Madrid’s list because Marcelo will go to Juventus,” Ricardo Schlieper told Radio Rivadavia, via Calciomercato.

It could be a ploy to drum up some interest for the Albiceleste defender but Schlieper said several clubs are interested in his client, and that it is “time for Tagliafico to take a leap in quality.”

Marcelo has seen his playing time reduced under Bernabeu boss Santiago Solari this season, and has been lately linked to a move to Juventus — and a potential reunion with old mate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Chelsea young gun set to take flight with Robins

There’s all sorts going on at Stamford Bridge at the moment, but one man who doesn’t look like he’ll be around to pick over the bones of a disastrous season at Chelsea is young star Kasey Palmer.

The Sun report that the 22-year-old is set for a summer switch to Ashton Gate to join Lee Johnson’s side in a deal worth £4m.

Palmer began the season as most Chelsea players do these days — away from the club on loan. He spent time at Blackburn, scoring three times in 17 matches, before heading to Bristol to aid in an unlikely promotion charge that stalled at the weekend, when the Robins had their wings clipped by title chasing Norwich.

After looking the part in the West Country, though, it’s understood that Bristol and Chelsea are keen to do business when the season is done. It’s unlikely he’ll be the first or last out of the door.

Tap-ins

Mail Online is reporting that Mauro Icardi‘s wife Wanda, holds the key to a potential transfer away from Inter Milan — an on-off move that now looks far more on than off.

Jose Mourinho has insisted that one of his primary ambitions is to find a club where there is no “internal conflict,” according to an exclusive interview with The Daily Telegraph. Which suggests we can tick Chelsea off the list of his potential future destinations.

The Sun report that Torino are keen on turning Chelsea wing-back Ola Aina‘s loan arrangement into something rather more permanent. The Nigerian, who was playing in the Championship for Hull as recently as last season, has been outstanding in Serie A and now Torino are planning to shell out £8.67m to seal the deal.
