Son of Lillian, Marcus Thuram is shining in France for Guingamp with Premier League trio Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly targeting him.
Marcus Thuram has a lot to live up to.
His father Lillian was one of the most accomplished defenders of his generation after all, representing Monaco, Juventus and Barcelona with distinction while becoming a world champion with France in 1998.
Marcus, however, is forging a reputation as a fine player in his own right, albeit as a striker rather than a rampaging right-back.
And, according to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are among three Premier League giants in targeting the 21-year-old, along with Manchester United and North London neighbours Arsenal.
It is understood that Spurs, United and The Gunners all sent scouts to watch Thuram in action as his struggling Guingamp side were beaten 1-0 by St Etienne on Sunday.
Thuram may have failed to get on the score sheet against Les Verts but he didn’t have the same problem as Guingamp stunned PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue on Wednesday. It was his stoppage time penalty which secured a shock 2-1 win for Jocelyn Gourvennec’s side, condemning PSG to their first domestic cup defeat since 2014.
In all competitions, the speedy striker has eight goals in 15 games this season.
