Andres Iniesta tips former Barcelona team-mate Neymar to be a huge success if he moves to Real Madrid from PSG

BARCELONA legend Andres Iniesta believes his old team-mate Neymar would be a huge success should he join Real Madrid – and has insisted the potential move wouldn’t hurt him.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been linked with a move to join Los Blancos, and was touted as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo when he left for Juventus.

And Iniesta – who spent four years playing alongside Neymar at the Nou Camp – has given the Brazilian international his blessing should he join Barca’s rivals.

Speaking to Cadena SER, he said: “It wouldn’t hurt me because they are decisions that if they happen, happen.

“Madrid would reinforce themselves with a unique player.

“Barcelona have unique players and I see them as candidates to win all the titles.

“Barca have reinforced themselves well this year. There are people like [Philippe] Coutinho, who has adapted well. I see a powerful team.”

Iniesta – now plying his trade at Japanese side Vissel Kobe – added that he doesn’t believe the former Santos star will don the colours of the Blaugrana again.

He added: “I think it’s difficult. Obviously Neymar continues to be one of the best and in any team he would make a difference. But it’s not easy to return.”

Neymar has been in emphatic form for Les Parisiens this season –  netting 13 goals in 16 games in all competitions – as Thomas Tuchel’s side sit top of Ligue 1 having won their opening 13 games.
