Bongani Zungu’s Amiens managed to secure a point on the road as they drew 0-0 with Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

The Bafana Bafana international started for the second successive league encounter in a midfield trio for the visitors.

It was the hosts who did a lot of the attack in the early stages, although they were unable to take advantage of the chances created.

Zungu, on his second game back, managed to earn himself a booking after 33 minutes for a late challenge. Fortunately for him, Lois Diony headed wide from the resulting set-piece.

The visitors did manage to carve out an opening just before the halftime break through Jordan Lefort, who sliced his effort high and wide from close range.

The second half continued in the same fashion as the first, with the home side seeing more of the ball without creating that many chances.

Zungu’s afternoon, however, was cut short as he was forced off with an injury after the hour mark.

Saint-Etienne did manage to create chances in the closing stages, but the likes of Remy Cabella and Robert Beric failed to slot away their chances as the clash ended 0-0.
