Monaco ace Pietro Pellegri makes history again as striker becomes first-ever player born in 21st century to score in Ligue 1… after already achieving feat in Serie A

PIETRO PELLEGRI took just four minutes to net for Monaco against Bordeaux – becoming the first, and only, player born in the 21st century to score in Ligue 1.

The Italian-born youngster made an instant impact, coming off the bench to cancel out Francois Kamano’s penalty.

And, incredibly, he already holds the same record in Serie A… doing so aged just 15 two seasons ago.

On that day, the talented forward threatened to wreck Francesco Totti’s retirement party back in May 2017 – giving Genoa a shock lead against Roma before they eventually lost out in a five-goal thriller.

So it was little surprise, despite being just since 16 at the time, that the French giants shelved out £22m to clinch his signature from his boyhood club back in January.

However, Pellegri, is already starting to pay back that fee.

He showed exceptional awareness and control to nick the ball from Jules Koundé before firing home emphatically – cue rapturous celebrations from the youngster .

Unfortunately for Pellegri and co they would come away from their trip empty handed, with Kamano striking deep into stoppage time to seal all three points for the hosts.
