Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey has signed a contract extension that ties him to the Bundesliga club until 2023.
Leverkusen announced that winger Bailey — one of the breakout stars of the Bundesliga last season — had committed his future to them after speculation that he could move elsewhere.

Clubs including Roma, Chelsea and Liverpool were reported to have been monitoring 21-year-old Bailey, who earlier this month told kicker there was “concrete interest” in him.
But the attacker, born in Jamaica, has opted to extend his stay at Leverkusen, who finished fifth in the Bundesliga last season.
They begin the new Bundesliga season at Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
