REVEALED: Man City chiefs (& Pep) see Girona coach Michel as future option

Girona coach Michel is being backed to succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City

Michel has Girona top of the LaLiga table, with the Catalans coming under the umbrella of the City Football Group.

Speaking on Cadena SER, local reporter Bruno Alemany said: “This suggests that several players and the coach will soon fly. We’ll see what happens. Míchel is a great coach and optimizes the players in a way that others are not capable of.

“At the moment Míchel has done better than Xavi. If Guardiola in June said ‘that’s it, I can’t take it anymore’… Manchester City would consider Míchel’s option, for sure.”

Sique Rodríguez also said on the show: “We interviewed Ferrán Soriano on SER and he told us that Míchel was a very, very valued coach within the City group.”

And Santi Giménez stated: “And it seems that Guardiola and Míchel are very friends. They met one day, they had one of Pep’s meals like the one he had with Bielsa, they sat down to eat at 1:00 p.m. and got up at 12:00 p.m.”
