Girona coach Michel hailed his players for their 4-2 win at Osasuna.
The Catalans won after being 2-1 at one stage. Artem Dovbyk, Viktor Tyshankov and Aleix Garcia all struck in the final ten minutes for the visitors.
Michel said, “We had a lot of personality and a great end to an incredible game. The 2-3 is a play that when you are up it comes out heads but when it doesn’t tails. It has given us life and we have experienced a more or less calm end to the game.
“I was very afraid of this match as I feared that they would impose their game on ours, but we were the ones who did it.”
With 31 points, Míchel’s comments, although restrained, showed ambition: “We are not in the league of Barça, Madrid, Atleti but we will fight to be in the league of those who come after them.
“I dream of this, of being able to be in the league of Real, Athletic, Rayo, etc. Now I do dream of that league. The goal of permanence is close and without stopping thinking about that goal but taking one more step.
“We had the character to face it and do well. We had to go after them and be brave. More than the message I give is the mental level that the team has.”
