Argentine great Sergio Aguero to make playing comeback with Barcelona de Guayaquil

Argentine great Sergio Aguero is set to make a playing comeback this month.

Aguero will turn out for Barcelona de Guayaquil in their new season presentation friendly for fans.

Aguero was forced into retirement last year while with Barcelona due to a heart condition.

The Manchester City legend said: “I have cardiologist controls, I’m fine and I already started training, so I can play on the Yellow Night. I hope to have fun and feel the pitch again. I feel great, I have a chip to keep control, so I will be able to play, because in 15 days I will also play a game with my friends from Barcelona in Spain.”

Agüero will be the eighth world star invited to the Yellow Night. Ronaldinho was in 2016, Diego Forlán a year later, Kaka in 2018, Andrea Pirlo in 2019, Alessandro Del Piero in 2020, Javier Mascherano in 2021 and Carlos Tévez in 2022.
