FIGC unsurprised by AC Milan UEFA ban

FIGC vice-Commissioner Alessandro Costacurta admits they’re unsurprised by UEFA’s ban for AC Milan.

Milan has been kicked out of European competition for two years after violating financial fair play laws.

“To be honest, the warning signs were there and it really wasn’t a surprise. We knew the UEFA verdict would go this way,” former Milan defender Costacurta told reporters.

“We just have to accept it and ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

Milan have announced they will lodge an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

“I don’t know if the appeal will be successful, but I repeat, we should be focusing on a way to ensure this sort of thing doesn’t happen.”
