New Barcelona president Joan Laporta is convinced Lionel Messi voting in yesterday’s election is proof of his commitment to the club.
Laporta made securing Messi to a new contract a key plank in his campaign and talked up the show of Messi and his son choosing to cast his vote on Sunday. The Argentine’s Barca contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
The triumph marks Laporta’s second time in charge of Barca, as he says in this clip, with his previous spell coinciding with the introduction of Messi to the first team.
