LIVE: Levante vs Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid are unbeaten in their last five LaLiga games against Levante (W4 D1) since a 1-2 loss at Ciutat de Valencia, in May 2016.

Only four players from Atletico’s win over Valladolid last time out survive to play this evening. Oblak, Hermoso, Partey and Llorente are the only men to retain their spots. Simeone rotates his backline as Trippier, Gimenez and Sanchez make way for Arias, Savic and Lodi. Koke and Saul Niguez slot into the middle of the park, while Costa and Carrasco lead the line. Morata, Felix, Lemar and Herrera all drop to the bench.

Levante have made six changes to their side from their win over Espanyol last time out. Coke, Gonazalez and Tono all come into the back four. Rochina and Radoja slot into the midfield, while Leon gets the nod to start in the final third. Mayoral, Postigo, Clerc, Miramon, Campana all drop to the bench, while there is no place for Gonzalo Melero.

ATLETICO MADRID SUBS: Antonio Adan, Jose Gimenez, Joao Felix, Alvaro Morata, Angel Correa, Thomas Lemar, Hector Herrera, Ivan Saponjic, Vitolo, Kieran Trippier, Manuel Sanchez, Toni Moya.

ATLETICO MADRID (4-4-2): Jan Oblak; Santiago Arias, Stefan Savic, Mario Hermoso, Renan Lodi; Marcos Llorente, Koke, Thomas Partey, Saul Niguez; Diego Costa, Yannick Carrasco.

LEVANTE SUBS: Koke Vegas, Robert Pier, Oscar Duarte, Hernani, Jose Luis Morales, Sergio Postigo, Carlos Clerc, Jorge Miramon, Borja Mayoral, Jose Campana, Pablo Martinez, Giorgi Kochorashvili.

LEVANTE (4-4-2): Aitor Fernandez; Coke, Bruno Gonzalez, Ruben Vezo, Tono; Ruben Rochina, Nikola Vucevic, Nemanja Radoja, Enis Bardhi; Roger Marti, Sergio Leon.

Los Rojiblancos have been excellent since their return to action, winning their last two matches. Diego Simeone’s men played out a 1-1 draw in their first game in June, but responded with a 5-0 thumping of Osasuna and a 1-0 triumph over Real Valladolid last time out. Atletico have cemented their spot in the top four, although they cannot afford to rest on their laurels.

Levante are sitting comfortably in mid-table ahead of the contest tonight. They are unbeaten in their last four matches, and three of which are since LaLiga resumed. Paco Lopez’s men recorded a 3-1 triumph over bottom club Espanyol last time out courtesy of strikes from Borja Mayoral and Enis Bardhi along with an own goal. The club face a challenge to maintain their recent good run against Atletico this evening.

Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the LaLiga clash between Levante and Atletico Madrid at Estadio Camilo Cano.
