The former Senegal international has offered his advice to the general public as the virus continues to escalate

Khalilou Fadiga has urged football fans to ensure their hands are always clean as the battle against Covid-19 continues.

The former Club Brugge and Bolton Wanderers midfielder joined the likes of Anthony Baffoe, Roger Milla and Vincent Enyeama as the Confederation of African Football’s effort to prevent the infection from growing.

Fadiga’s video on Caf’s Twitter handle was accompanied by the text: “Another participant in the #SafeHandsChallenge! Khalilou Fadiga shows us how it’s done.”

The Covid-19 outbreak has become a global crisis, with the World Health Organisation (WHO) having declared Europe is the “epicentre” of the pandemic, with over 132,500 people having been diagnosed worldwide as of March 13.

The Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and many African leagues have been postponed as a result.
