Former West Brom whizkid Louie Barry is finally set to make his debut for Barcelona‘s Juvenil A (U19s).
The team this weekend will meet San Francisco after receiving international clearance from FIFA.
Sport says Barcelona confirmed the signing of Barry from West Brom in July but the teenager has been forced to wait for his first competitive appearance.
England youth international Barry, 16, featured in preseason, scoring several goals, but has been unable to play in any of the side’s five league games or either of the two UEFA Youth League fixtures to date.
The reason for the delay has been a bureaucratic issue with Barca forced to wait for world football’s governing body to clear the transfer. A number of aspects of the deal needed to be checked, including the player’s education program at his new club.
