Wolves vs Manchester United Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

With both teams looking to play on the counter attack, Al Hain-Cole doesn’t expect too many goals between Espirito Santo’s men and the Red Devils

Manchester United will be aiming to build on their blockbuster start to the season when they travel to Molineux to take on Wolves on Monday.

The Red Devils ran out emphatic 4-0 winners over Chelsea in their Premier League opener, creating plenty of optimism for the season ahead.

Latest odds

However, having failed to win any of their three meetings with this opposition last season, they are 5/4 (2.25) with 888Sport to make it six points from six here.

Indeed, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team recorded two home wins over the visitors last campaign, and are available at 47/20 (2.85) to make it three in a row in this one.

Just one of the last 14 encounters between this pair has resulted in a draw, but you can get odds of 23/10 (3.30) on this one finishing up all square.

Team news

New signings Patrick Cutrone, Jesus Vallejo and Pedro Neto all had their chance in a rotated line-up for Thursday’s 4-0 Europa League win over Pyunik, but are likely to drop back to the bench for this clash.

Eric Bailly is the only long term injury absentee for the guests, although Alexis Sanchez remains short of match fitness.

Preview

Although a 4-0 win over last season’s third-placed team is obviously an exciting start to the new campaign, Monday’s trip to the Black Country is likely to offer a sterner test than Chelsea provided.

While Frank Lampard’s team looked rather naive and disorganised in allowing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men so much space on the counter-attack, it is hard to see Wolves proving quite so generous.

Espirito Santo’s men had the best defensive record outside the top four last season, and have conceded just once in five competitive matches so far this campaign.

Predictions

With United also looking to play on the break, odds of 7/10 (1.70) seem well worth backing on under 2.5 goals being scored in a tight match.

Under 2.5 goals at 7/10 (1.70) for a 2pt stake with 888Sport
