Aston Villa are passing on the permanent signing of Clement Lenglet.
The France defender spent last season on-loan at Villa from Barcelona.
But Mundo Deportivo says Villa have decided against extending his stay or buying his contract.
The defender is therefore destined to return to Barca which will then have to look for a new club for him unless incoming coach Hansi Flick decides otherwise.
Lenglet has a deal with Barca to 2026.
