Guille Fernández beats Lamine Yamal’s record for Barca Atletic

Barcelona fans are being told to keep an eye on teen Guille Fernández after Saturday’s record breaking appearance.

Against Osasuna B, Fernández came on for Barca Atletic in the 80th minute to replace Marc Guiu and with Rafa Márquez’s side losing 2-1.

With Fernandez on the pitch, Barça Atlètic turned the score around to win 2-1. He debuted with the Barça reserve team at 15 years and 287 days old and by just 10 days, he took the record of youngest footballer to play with the Barça second team from Lamine Yamal.

Lamine made his debut with Barça Atlètic on May 6 in the home of Eldense (2-2). He was 15 years and 297 days old. He surpassed Alejandro Grimaldo (15 years and 349 days) and Haruna Babangida (16 years and 53 days).

Midfielder Fernandez has been training with Xavi’s senior squad this season since October.
