Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen: We should’ve attacked more in Athletic Bilbao draw

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen admitted frustration after their 0-0 draw at Athletic Bilbao.

Ter Stegen felt they could’ve attacked more on the day.

He said, “It’s hard for me not to answer badly in this case because what this locker room doesn’t lack is ambition and I don’t like people talking about this topic. It couldn’t be today, but we tried until the end.

After the match, Ter Stegen admits he regretted not having taken advantage of the setbacks that Real Madrid and Girona suffered on the same weekend.

“We were going for the victory but in the end it was not to be. We did not reach the area enough but it is always a very complicated game here. The draw is perhaps better for them than for us,” he assured.

“They pressed at the top but it wasn’t a very intense pressure and they let us play. We knew how to overcome it but higher up it was a little more difficult for us.”
