Former Barcelona director general Anton Parera has slammed president Joan Laporta.
With the club still battling with a financial crisis, Parera has accused Laporta of “destroying” Barca.
Parera worked under Josip Lluis Nunez and Joan Gaspart. He told RAC1: “This is destroying him psychologically, emotionally and symbolically.
“The only thing Laporta is doing is taking advantage of the levers that Núñez left him.
Parera says Núñez was a “football visionary” who revolutionized “European football structures” and affirms that the man who was Barcelona president between 1978 and 2000 was the architect of the arrival of Johan Cruyff.
“Everyone forgets that Cruyff is what he is as a Barcelona myth because Núñez saved his head in an assembly of delegates,” he recalled.
