Barcelona coach Xavi cools tension after Barbastro bust-up

Barcelona coach Xavi played down their clash with the Barbastro bench at the end of Sunday’s Copa del Rey win.

Barca survived a Barbastro fight-back to win 3-2.

Xavi later said: “There is always talk. There are things that are discussed with the referees, without further ado. Now we have been talking with the coach and with the Barbastro players in the locker room.

“Do not look for tension where there is none.

“I think we played a good game, but we got confused again. And a mistake can earn you a title. We should not give away as much as we give away. I think that, in general, it is a positive match.

“We suffer more than necessary. Fermín and Fort play a great match. We have practically not conceded, only those two. Nothing else. It’s a game that you can score, you don’t, you concede and suffer more than necessary.”
