Royal Antwerp coach Mark van Bommel has no doubts about the potential of Arthur Vermeeren.
The Antwerp youngster is a target for Barcelona and Van Bommel says the Belgian has similar ability to Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
He told HLN: “If Europe’s elite are interested in someone, it will be difficult to keep them. Although a large amount of money will have to be invested. And yet I have no doubts.
“Vermeeren can continue to adapt to an increasingly higher level. The same thing happened with Bellingham. Maybe he needs a Euro Cup to reach his level. I advise him that he can still take steps here (at Antwerp) and wait for a big club for a while yet. Step by step.
“He has achieved fantastic development in just over a year. He has continued to perform, even when all eyes were increasingly focused on him. We are constantly working to ensure that he continues to develop. He does it automatically, and that is precisely the natural talent he has.”
