Barcelona coach Xavi admits today’s clash with Atletico Madrid will mean more than three points.
Xavi recognises Atletico as a direct rival.
He said, “It’s an important game, it’s three more points but it’s a direct rival. Atlético is in a great moment of form. We need the fans, it is important that they go up to Montjuïc.
“We have to dominate the game, have high circulation, attack in spaces… they defend well with a low block, it is aggressive… it will be difficult but we have numbers to play a great game and get the three points.”
Xavi also stated: “I would highlight his coach, honestly. Every day that passes, I have more respect and admiration for Cholo (Simeone), he has a different style than ours but it is commendable. He has changed the history of the club. It has much merit. He has adapted to the players he has. Now he has better gifted players.
“Everyone is plugged in.”
