Agent: Arthur happy at Fiorentina; difficult to lift him after Liverpool

The agent of Fiorentina midfielder Arthur Melo says his future in Florence remains undecided.

Arthur is on a season-long at Fiorentina from Juventus.

Claudio Pastorello told TMW: “First of all I publicly thank Joe Barone and Daniele Pradè, as well as Vincenzo Italiano. They had the courage to listen to my insistent invitation to think about this player, because coming from such a difficult season like the one at Liverpool, with an injury that lasted longer than expected and a difficult recovery, even though in my opinion he deserved to play a little more, it wasn’t easy to pick him up.

“However, I was certain that he would do well, firstly due to the tactical qualities of the Italian game which are perfect for how Arthur plays his role. Then I thought that the environment of Florence could be ideal for him, given that it is an important but still family club, with a present ownership. He found himself in a suitable environment, then we are talking about a footballer who was at Barcelona, he is a champion.

“Today is November, the end of the season is long away. There is a right of redemption but I don’t even consider it much, he was placed to give Fiorentina the opportunity to think about buying him but Arthur has a very onerous contract and there are problems. At the end of the season we will sit down calmly and see what to do. The important thing is that Arthur is feeling well and that Fiorentina is happy with Arthur.”

Pastorello added: “He feels great. It’s premature to talk about it but only because it’s November. He also feels good in the city, he lives it as he wants. Florence is wonderful, I don’t rule out any type of scenario for the end of the season.”
