Ancelotti: If Florentino doesn’t travel to Barcelona it will be for the good of Real Madrid

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti insists there’s no favourite ahead of tomorrow’s clash at Barcelona.

Ancelotti also defended president Florentino Perez, who will not be attending the game in protest against a disparaging tweet by a Barca board member against Vini Jr.

The Real coach said: “There is no favourite. One team can start better than another. It is going to be a spectacular game, very competitive and hopefully the fans can enjoy it.

“We are motivated. It is an important and special match. It will be the first Clasico of this season and we will have more, because there are many tournaments. This is the first, we arrived well and we are excited to make it a great match.”

Regarding the possible absence of Florentino, Ancelotti said: “I don’t know what the president is going to decide, but I do know that whenever he has made a decision it has been for the good of the club and Real Madrid.”

Ancelotti also highlighted the young players of Barcelona, but also did not want to forget those of Real Madrid: “I like them all.

Lamine Yamal has stood out, but also Fermín. They are young people who have a future, but like us. We have young people with a spectacular future. Sometimes we forget that we also have young people and players from the Real Madrid academy.”
