Barcelona confirm Lewandowski injury; Real Madrid clash in doubt

Barcelona have announced Robert Lewandowski could miss the El Clasico against Real Madrid.

During their Champions League win at Porto, Lewandowski was substituted in the 34th minute due to a blow to his left ankle.

Barca have since released a statement confirming the Poland striker will face several weeks sidelined.

A club announcement read: “The tests carried out this morning have shown that Robert Lewandowski suffers a sprain in his left ankle.

“He is out and his evolution will determine his availability.”

Lewandowski isn’t expected to be seen until November, so meaning he’ll miss the first El Clasico of the season this month.
