Lewandowski discusses Kimmich Barcelona rumours; Kane as his Bayern Munich replacement

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski insists he’s not spoken to Joshua Kimmich about leaving Bayern Munich.

The midfielder has been linked with Barca.

But Lewandowski told BILD: “No. I only spoke to Jo about his situation at Bayern. There has been a lot of unrest and uncertainty there over the past few months. That can affect a team.

“But we only spoke as friends and former teammates, I didn’t try to convince him to sign for Barcelona.”

Regarding Harry Kane, his successor at the Allianz Arena, Lewandowski added: “He is a great striker, a very good solution for Bayern. Bayern spent a lot on Harry, he is a new dimension.

“The first year will not be easy for him, because the change is big. Harry needs time to understand Bayern. It is a challenge. He arrived at Bayern when he was 30, I arrived when I was 25. He is more mature and has more experience.

“On the other hand, I already knew the Bundesliga then. But Harry is one of the best strikers in the world.

“He will help the club, although there will be difficult phases.”
