Real Madrid have delivered a withering response to the accusations of Barcelona president Joan Laporta yesterday.
In defending Barca against claims around the Negreira Case investigation, Laporta accused Real Madrid of being the club “of the regime” and had a history of being favoured by refereeing.
In response, Real Madrid TV delivered a four minute reaction: “The Camp Nou was inaugurated by Franco’s general minister, José Solís Ruiz.
“Barcelona awarded the gold and diamond insignia to Franco and named Franco an honorary partner in 1965.
“It was saved from bankruptcy three times with three requalifications from Franco.
“It won eight Leagues and nine Generalissimo Cups.
“Real Madrid took 15 years to win the League with Franco and Real Madrid was dismantled after the Civil War, players murdered, detained and exiled.”
