Barcelona president Laporta blasts Real Madrid: Team of the regime; they will be unmasked

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has launched a furious attack on Real Madrid.

Speaking to local media over the Negreira case where Barca are being investigated for allegedly paying former referees boss Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira for information on match officials, Laporta turned on Real.

Real have publicly supported the investigation and Laporta snapped: “A president who feels harmed by all this is Real Madrid. A club that we all know has been favored by refereeing decisions, has been considered the regime’s team due to its proximity to political, sporting, and economic power.

“Most of the referee committees have been former members of Real Madrid, former Real Madrid players or former Real Madrid directors.

“For 70 years, the people who have designated justice on the pitch have been former players, former managers, former Real Madrid partners or on some occasions all at once. That they say that they feel harmed at the best moment in the history of FCB seems to me an exercise in cynicism and this will put them in their place.

“I hope that the trial unmasks them because they are a club that has benefited from refereeing decisions.”
