The Insider – Rudy Galetti: Arsenal explore Ronaldo option; Man City go Bellingham deep; Real Madrid & Brahim

CR7, the time to decide has come; it will be a hard-fought race for Jude Bellingham; Vincent Aboubakar, the call of Turkey. Here are some of the main stories over the last few days of the transfer market from TribalFootball’s transfer expert Rudy Galetti.

Bellingham: a fought race

A few weeks ago, we talked about Jude Bellingham‘s situation: Real Madrid and, above all, Florentino Perez are ready to take the field for the English player, but first they want to understand the his real commitment to wear the Los Blancos shirt. Indeed, until now Jude seemed to slightly favour Liverpool – another club who’s interested in him – which, however, is currently not willing to pay over the €120 million required by Borussia Dortmund. And so, in this stalemate, Manchester City could try to get ahead of the competition, speeding up things for the BVB midfielder.

For this reason, the Citizens have started talks with the German club to go deep on the situation of the English player that, unless sensational twists, will say goodbye to Bundesliga next summer. But be careful that the race for Jude Bellingham is only just beginning: we can certainly say that the courtships of the Three Lions player will go on for a long time.

Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid are already in, but in the next few weeks new clubs could decide to join the competition for him, perhaps outdoing everyone with multi-million euro offers that can by no means be refused.

Brahim Diaz, his future will be decided at the end of the season

The arrival of Charles De Ketelaere in August had initially given a boost to Brahim Diaz, protagonist of many top-level matches at the beginning of the season with AC Milan. However, some subdued performances have called into question his future at the Rossoneri: Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, in fact, will monitor the Spanish player also in the first six months of the next year before taking a definitive decision.

Only in the summer, therefore, they’ll take stock: in any case, if AC Milan should decide to keep the player permanently, the management of the Rossoneri will try to renegotiate the price tag with Real Madrid. Officially, the two-year loan contract that binds him to AC Milan until June 2023 doesn’t include a specific option to buy, but a gentlemen’s agreement with Los Blancos has set it at around €22 million, with a €27 million buy-back clause in favour of the Spaniards. As is well known, ACM are good at renegotiating the cost of the players (as they have already done in the past with Sandro Tonali) and, above all, Real Madrid have other technical ideas – different from Brahim – for the attacking midfielder role.

So, they could decide to lower the price to let him go. For sure, this situation is not easy to handle for Diaz, who will play for another 6 months under pressure, without knowing what his real future will be.

Dalot, out of the World Cup but at the centre of market interests

Three appearances – two of which in the first eleven – and one assist: this is the spoils with which Diogo Dalot left the World Cup, eliminated, together with his Portugal, by the surprising Morocco. Bad news a bit sweetened when thinking of the big European clubs which, thanks also to the good performances in Qatar, have set their sights on the right-back.

One of the teams most interested in the former AC Milan player is Barcelona, which want to continue evaluating Diogo in terms of performance. In Italy, Juventus are also tracking the Portuguese player: however, the legal troubles force the Old Lady to understand and wait on what the future holds for them, before planning any move in the transfer market.

For this reason, the Black and White option, at the moment, is to be considered on standby. Dalot’s contract expires in June 2023, but there is an option that can be exercised by Manchester United to extend his contract by another season, avoiding losing him as a free agent. In the coming weeks, the talks for the right wing-back could intensify with the Spanish club that could decide to speed up things for him.

CR7, the time to decide his future has come

Now that Portugal has been eliminated from the World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo will have to decide his future. As we told 2 weeks ago, CR7 was completely focused on the tournament held in Qatar and hadn’t made any decisions, as he himself confirmed after the victory against Switzerland. With the spotlights on the Portuguese national team that have faded out, Ronaldo will have time to think about what he wants to be when he “grows up”.

Al Nassr’s offer, unlike what many have said, will be officially presented in the next few days, with the executive director of the Saudi club who will be in Qatar to directly manage the negotiation.

$180 million per season, 2 and a half year contract: this will be Al Nassr’s first proposal. However, the elimination of Portugal and the last 2 consecutive benches could trigger a desire for revenge in Ronaldo, trying to remain in Europe.

With this in mind, the Arsenal option is gaining ground: the Gunners would like to join the race for the Portuguese, trying to convince him to stay in England as early as January 2023. Obviously, the offer cannot be as rich as the Saudi one, but there’s the will to make an attempt. Lastly, the call of the MLS remains, with Inter Miami already in contact with Ronaldo for some time. As mentioned, however, the player would like to find a new team in Europe, to play – again – a leading role on the Old Continent. Everything is still to be decided.

Aboubakar, from the goal against Brazil to the interest of European clubs

Vincent Aboubakar became a hero at home with his late winning goal against Brazil.

Despite the elimination from the World Cup, Cameroon’s victory against the green-gold represented a historic result for the Africans, who came out of the tournament with their heads held high thanks to the goal scored by the Al Nassr forward.

Not for nothing, the Saudi club striker ended up in the sights of two European teams, one of which is Turkish, who were in touch with his current club to gather information on him immediately after the match against Serbia. Only a first contact so far, with no formal offer, but the feeling is that the Turkish team means to continue the dialogue with Al Nassr: the Saudi club, for its part, informed the player, who had just landed in Riyadh, that they would like to sell him – even on loan – to the highest bidder.

The sensation is that the next few days could already have in store some important developments on the negotiation: with a suitable proposal, Aboubakar could return to play in Europe and, after being a World Cup’s protagonist with his Cameroon, obtain satisfactions also in Turkey with his probable new club.
