Espanyol striker Martin Braithwaite has taken aim at former club Barcelona.
The Dane left Barca for Espanyol over the summer.
He said, “After recovering from the injury I thought I would continue there, I was ready, but I saw it wasn’t necessary.
“I had shown I could be important, but there was no opportunity to continue. It’s part of the game, that’s how business works. I knew they wanted to let me go, but I also knew it wasn’t for sporting reasons.
“At Espanyol I proved to be strong and better every day I couldn’t have done more, I built the foundations while everyone relaxed. I knew I would be called up to the World Cup.”
