Barcelona captain Sergi Busquets says Ansu Fati deserves his World Cup place.
Fati’s Spain selection has been questioned due to his lack of form and fitness this season.
But Busquets says: “He looks very good, he has not been getting all the minutes he needed at Barça, but the call-up has given him a confidence boost and that desire to show what he has done previously — being a different and special player.
“He has been doing very well in training and in the friendly match. The confidence of the coach and his teammates is important.
“I hope he is at his best level and helps us a lot.”
