Martin Zubimendi has announced he expects to sign a new contract with Real Sociedad.
The midfielder has been linked with Barcelona as a replacement for Sergi Busquets.
But after victory against Girona, Zubimendi was asked about signing a new deal with La Real and said: “I hope so. The truth is that the talks are very good and it will be a matter of time.
“The truth is that I’m not worried right now. I have to be focused on what’s to come, which is very, very hard, and I’ll give it my all until the World Cup.
“You always have hope, but it’s difficult. If I haven’t been to any call yet… there’s little time left for the World Cup to start, and it’s difficult.”
